Company Brief

Zahrat Al Waha for Trading Company is Saudi Arabia’s leading producer of PET preform and HDPE closure (caps) products.

From our custom-built plastics facilities in Al-Kharj, south of Riyadh, we manufacture over five billion units each year for our customers in the water bottling and other industries.

Our business operations are characterised by the highest quality, safety and environmental standards. We take our responsibility towards the environment very seriously, whether through chemical-waste management, or the monitoring and reduction of other externalities such as air pollution.

The company began manufacturing operations in 2012, and since then, we have responded to demand by increasing production capabilities every year. This investment drive has translated directly into our sales, which on an annual-compound basis have been growing by nearly 50% over the past seven years.

At the same time, we have focused on developing our product portfolio to ensure that we meet all our customers’ requirements.

Our market leadership in the Kingdom is evidence of the success of our strategy and the competitiveness of our offering. However, as the domestic market has become increasingly crowded, we have accelerated our sales effort in the Middle East and Central Africa region.

We are committed to retaining and attracting talent, through ongoing professional development and making sure we have the industry’s best work environment. Importantly, in the pursuit of responsible corporate citizenship, we are always mindful of our environmental footprint and any impacts we may have on other stakeholders.

Process

Our state-of-the art factory was established in 2012. The facility consists of two independent production units where we manufacture plastic profiles and plastic sheets in various sizes, weights and colors, which are used by mineral water bottling companies. Our plastic sheets capacity now exceeds over 80 thousand tons per year.

The plastic-sheeting process is overseen by our specialized engineers who use our top-of -the-range thermal injection machines to ensure the quality of the finished product.
Alongside product quality, we place a significant emphasis on employee safety and environmental best practice. Our processes have been recognised by local and international standards bodies including ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 22000: 2005.

Future Development

In order to satisfy the growing demand from water companies for a wider range of products, and to attract new clients to our business, we plan to expand our operations by adding more production lines.

Our sharp focus on the changing needs of the market ensures that we:

• Focus on the products that are in demand.
• Utilise our industry knowledge to meet the needs
of the industry.
• Actively prepare for potential future product
requirements.
• Channel our resources to meet these needs.

We aim to become the industry’s partner of choice in the GCC and MENA regions, by providing a wide range of products at competitive rates, while maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service.

VISION

Our goal is to set the regional standard in the preforms and caps industry with our innovative product portfolio. Our growth potential extends beyond our mainstay water-bottling customers, as we explore opportunities in beverages, including soft drinks, juice and dairy.
